IB to ESA - would photos help?

DH got the dreaded letter yesterday and the process of going from IB to ESA has started.
He has been told to expect a phonecall from the Jobcentre to answer questions and then no doubt we have the forms to look forward to.
The thing is DH is very physically disabled due to the effects of RA - do you think we should send some photos? Possibly when they see the state he is in it may help his cause?
Thanks.

RA comes within category 2 as regards having a medical. They have to have a very good reason for calling you in with RA.
1. Unsuitable forcalling to a Medical Examination Centre.
2. Reference toMedical Advisor required for advice.
3. Tentatively inviteto Medical Examination Centre.
4. Invite to MedicalExamination Centre.
5. Any otherDiagnosis.

Most people on here have no idea just how disabling RA is, even with treatment.
My husband was diagnosed about 30 years ago but managed to keep working for 15 years post initial diagnosis.
This is not just a touch of rheumatism. Whenever anyone asks him about it they always say yes I have painful knees/hips etc as well.
With RA it isn't just what you can see either, many internal organs are damaged and the drug treatment is very toxic for many sufferers.0 -
I can't see it doing any harm.
I suplied photos when sending in my DLA renewal as my left foot has rotated inwards and it was easier for them to see a visual example rather than just my description of what was happening with my foot. There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. I have severe RA and when I mentioned to my GP about sending in photos of my hands for them to see, he said it was a very good idea and would back up his detailed description. He said its one thing to describe deformities but its quite another to actually see them.
I was successful with my ESA transition and was placed in the support group.0 -

This in practice means 'Refer to ATOS' for a decision.
It's at this point the pictures may be of use, as it will help them make this decision.0
