I have found a Marks & Spencer's store card statement going back to 2002 showing I was paying PPI, I have no idea how long i had this store card it converted to a credit card in 2005 which I still have to this date.
I am not paying PPI now but I have no idea when I stopped paying it.
Can I make a claim

Can I make a claim
You cant claim as the policy is no longer in force. If you mean complain, then what would be your reasons for complaint?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
I just thought as I was paying PPI without my knowledge I maybe able to reclaim.....0

How could it be without your knowledge, it would have been on every single statement you received as a seperate entry.
As Dunstonh says, you have to have a reason for a mis sale to rais a complaint.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
There is plenty of people who have been paying PPI without realising it. Go for it jooolsDefaultless as of 12th Sept 2012

A bit harsh McKneff!
I think Joools18 still has this policy by what she has written, as the store card has now been converted to a credit card, so I would think she has a valid reason to complain about the ppi. She said she found "a" statement so she would have no idea how long she could have been paying this.
As knoxvillan says, go for it joools!0 -

And very few get paid out on that reason alone.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Not harsh at all, the OP would have received a statement every single month with the PPI on it, how can you not notice that at the time.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

The OP's comment that she no longer pays PPI shows that it clearly hasn't been on every statement and that it was cancelled (by herself or the Bank) at some stage. Not harsh at all, the OP would have received a statement every single month with the PPI on it, how can you not notice that at the time.
Of course the PPI might have been cancelled as far back as 2002, in which case the OP is unlikely to have a bumper payout even if any complaint is successful.0 -
Oh dear I think I may have touched on a nerve somewhere!!
I have not kept all my credit/storecard statements, I just came across this one in my loft!!
I may have been paying it for years!!0 -

How is it even relevant?
I would say if it ended up on the account without her knowledge there is a good chance it may have been mis-sold. MSE's owner article:Didn't realise you had cover?
Have you just checked your loan agreement to find that you've been paying for insurance, but didn't realise until now that you had it, or what it's for?
Some old agreements (pre-July 2007) may have used pre-ticked boxes so you had to opt out of the insurance rather than opt in, which is unfair. Always check this, and if you're paying for insurance you didn't know you had, go to how to reclaim.Defaultless as of 12th Sept 2012
