I don't understand either, so I will make up my own question to answer.

Your package for seat cleaning (good scam that one!!) was probably one fixed fee, you paid for 3 years cover.
Instead of paying £1k in one lump, you spread the repayments over a long time (same as car Insurance)

Nobody in their right mind would "buy" someones second hand seat scratching policy, after all, who would even take something like that out??
Sounds like the Suede Waterproof NASA Designed treatment Spray I get offered when I buy my new Clarkes Attackers.

If you signed up for that, I shudder to think of how much you were going to pay for that car (balanced against it's worth).

I think the OP wants a part refund of the 1k paid to cover the seat insurance considering they are returning the car early and the OP is also trying to cut down on expenses for the sake of a new mortgage.
