Help wanted - Connecting to internet with phone

Hi. I hope someone can help with this annoying problem I have trying to connect to the Internet through my home wifi network with my HTC Wildfire. I manage to connect to the network but I can't connect to the Internet. We have a Netgear 54 Mbps wireless Modem router provided by my wife's work. Once I've connected to the router, upon connecting to the Internet I get the message: "Web page not available" - none of my apps work either. Other people with different phones have the same problem at my house. My phone connects fine through a mobile netwrok and to other WI-fi networks. It's just my home router, which I think must have some sort of setting. Can anyone help?

If you can access the router's setup page, see if DHCP is enabled.
Do you access the home wifi using any other computers? You could check those to see if the IP settings were assigned by DHCP too.

Before you go changing anything, why did your wife's employer supply the modem?

Can your wife access the internet from her computer, or is she restricted to only using her employer's intranet / internal systems?
