Travel Insurance Questions - Pre-existing medical conditions

Hi I need to take out travel insurance for my short trip to France in a couple of weeks but I am really confused regarding the disclosure of pre-existing medical conditions. Firstly I do not want to be covered for any of my pre-existing medical conditions as they are so minor and I do not believe they will be an aggravating factor whilst abroad.

However upon reading some of the policies companies issue for their travel insurance I am very confused whether I still have to disclose the conditions or does non-disclosure invalidate the policy? The specific terminology that concerns me is:

'No claim arising directly or indirectly from a Pre-existing Medical Condition affecting any person travelling under this insurance will be covered...'

Does this mean for example if I suffer from hayfever and chose not to disclose the condition would the insurance company refuse to pay out for medical treatment for something totally unrelated such as a broken ankle!?

To ensure your policy is valid you must answer the questions regarding your conditions truthfully.

Some policies will allow you to be covered with the exception of anything related to your declared conditions which might suit you.

Others have a list of minor conditions that need not be mentioned.
