Tesco Insulation Offer

After seeing this in this week's email, I thought it was a great idea and registered. I was so disappointed to receive a letter today saying that it is not possible for me " as they have no installers in this area" - fair enough if I lived somewhere remote, but I live on the south side of Glasgow! Just wondered whether this is a gigantic con for free publicity and whether any other areas have received this reponse?

If you talking about there kitchens.
There was someting on here not so long ago and they listed the prices of everything.
The unit costs were so inflated you could tell the fitting charge was added in, nothing is ever free

Why not try the free insulation offer by EDF or another company who is offering the same?

Agreed with SJshah - there are other companies who do offer free insulation (big and small companies)

I am a BG customer and am having trouble with just getting them to come out and do the initial survey. No one turned up first time around, and after a lot of being pushed from pillar to post, it turns out the company they are allocated it to are in Manchester and won't travel to me. Have another appointment booked, see how it goes this time.
I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off :o

then let's see this time - hopefully BG will get it done for you soon! :D
or else you might consider are other companies. Like mine, mine was done through Mark group because I had a friend working as an surveyor for Mark group. They got it done fast and quick which I'm impressed of. :)

Just an update, gave up on waiting for Tesco to ring me so rang a local insulation company, who came and did a survey today, I asked them if they could do the same offer and they agreed, free insulation coming soon. I'd advise just ringing your local company, ask for a quote and mention that all the energy suppliers are doing it for free regardless of whether you are on benefits etc.
