Moving photos from phone to laptop

Hello

Advice please as i am totally tecnophobic.

I just got a lead to link my phone to my laptop. How do i transfer the photos on my phone to the laptop & then how do i upload the photos to a website.

My operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium.

Any advice appreciated.

Hi, try this...connect phone to PC with your lead. Go into MY COMPUTER on your PC. There you should find an icon or similar, hopefuly named so as to be easy to identify as your phone. Double click to open it up and there you should be able to access your phones files and folders. Hunt down your photos and drag them or copy them to where you want them, your desktop is an easy option to begin with

if you have a smart phone you could also try installing https://www.dropbox.com on your phone and laptop. you will have a dropbox folder on each and photos can be synchronised automatically without the need to connect to your laptop via a cable. photos will be backed up too.

depends on website as to how you upload photos

    Hello Again

Finally tried to move the photos without success. The laptop says i also need a cd (that i dont have) also could not find MY COMPUTER on the laptop. Also forgot to add the phone is not a smartphone & is over 4 yrs old.

Should i just get a cheap new phone (with the instructions & bits) & put the sim card in it & try that.

    Thanks

Google for an online manual for the phone, and see what advice that offers.

Or, if you have a paper manual for it, read that.

This idea will only work if the photos are stored on the SIM card, which is unlikely - they are probably stored on a SD type card or internal memory.

IIRC on Vista My Computer was renamed to Computer. WIN-KEY + E will open it, or Start > Computer

If you open Computer first and make a mental note of the drive letters you can see, then connect the phone, a nnew drive letter should appear (although as you said it needs a CD I suspect Vista doesn't have the required drivers, in which case you'll have to get them from the 'phone manufacturers web site. If you can't find them, post the make and model of phone and someone should be able to assist.
How do I add a signature?

If the former, a card reader will circumvent the problem rather neatly.
