Barclaycard (Egg) BT Query

I've got £8.5k outstanding on an HSBC credit card, not sure what the APR is but minimum payments are around £215. I'm looking move as much of this onto 0% interest asap.
I've just paid off the balance on my Barclaycard so have a £0 balance now.
On my online banking under offers Barclaycard are offering a 6 months 0% balance transfer. My question is, is there any negotiation on the BT 0% period? If I called Barclaycard is there much chance they might offer me 12 months or more?
Any help appreciated. Thanks

I always found that when I cleared my Barclaycard I got an immediate BT offer. However, if I held off from using my card for a couple of months that intial BT offer would expire and they would then send me a better BT offer because they wanted my business back.
If you can pay of the entire balance in a short period of time, then go for the 0% BT offer, but if not hold off for longer and wait until they send you a low apr life of the balance offer. If you do get a life of the balance offer, don't use the card for anything else just the BT.
I also found that if I phoned (rather than respond to an offer letter/email ) them to do a BT they gave me a discount of the BT fee.
I hope that helps.Debt-Free day 30th September 20140
