Hope no one minds me putting this in my own thread but I am sooooooooooooooooooooooo excited....today I ordered my wedding dress!!!!!!!

If you've seen me posting you may have noticed me fretting about going dress shopping and dreading it and worrying about it. I even have been having nightmares about it!

Today I went to a mini wedding fair with my sister and best friend (maid of honour and bridesmaid) and then we went to a shop to look at bridesmaids' dresses, and my mum met us there.

I hadn't been intending to try on dresses yet but after seeing the catwalk show at the wedding fair I decided I wanted to, and seeing as I really had no idea what I liked the girl just picked out loads of different styles to try on.

Anyway to cut a very long story short (I could ramble on and give you all the details!) I tried on about four and the fourth one was IT. We just knew - my mum cried and my sister cried and my bridesmaid cried! It was so flattering and really pulled me in at the waist and made my boobs look great and aargh...was just amazing!!!!

I had NEVER thought I would look nice in a wedding dress, I was so worried. But actually all the ones I tried on looked really nice (apart from one that made me look like a wedding cake apparently - I don't know, they got it off me before I could see a mirror!) and it was so lovely. The best thing is although I definitely still want to lose weight (and they can adjust the dress if I do) it still looked amazing on me as I was today, so even if I don't lose weight, I will still feel good in my wedding dress. It feels like a huge amount of pressure has been taken off.

I can't quite believe I have bought the fourth dress I tried on but it was honestly perfect and I can't think how anything else could be better.

It has been ordered in a Size 18 (US sizing so a UK 16) which is awful....but no one will know the size of the dress! Also there was another girl there choosing her wedding dress and when they measured her they had to order hers in a 16 - and she was normally a 10! So I am going to just ignore the number.

Anyway this is way too long but I AM SO EXCITED!!! And I feel like I can't tell anyone about it because the people I would normally talk to were either there on the day, or is my OH who isn't supposed to know the details!!!! So you get it I'm afraid!!

EEEEEEKKKK!!!!!!

Aww I'm so pleased for you, you sound so pleased and excited and rightly so!! :D

Size really doesn't matter. I could go in four different shops and pick four different sizes. I am normally a size 12 but I have some tops in my wardrobe that are a size 6! HAHA yeah right am I a 6. So like you said it is just a number. That's what I think about weight too, everybody's body is completely different so don't pressurize yourself into losing loads of weight :) x

Yay someone replied! thank you!! I am still bouncing off the walls and I keep coming in to the computer to look at the dress on the website (even though it looks better on me than on the model...sounds vain I know and I am no model, but this pic just really doesn't do it justice!)

Haha bless ya. I know that feeling tho, the picture of mine isn't at th e best angle and also shows the dress with a zip and mine is a lace up, and the only one to ever be made with a lace up! Woohoo :) you'll be dreaming about your dress tonight then!

    Yay, well done!

Can we have a cheeky link to swoon over?

As for sizing yes don't worry about it - My wardrobe contains sizes 8-12 and my dress was ordered in a 14!

I'll preface this with the usual "the picture doesn't do it justice" things...when I read people saying that on here I always thought "yeag right whatever, you've obviously just bought an ugly dress" (sorry!!!!) but now I TOTALLY understand what they mean...

My boobs are bigger than hers and my waist is smaller (or at least that's how the dress made it look!) and they are making me some strap type things that are in the same sort of ruched material as the bit at the waist. I can't explain them...you know like a strip of material that goes round your shoulders and hooks in to the bodice at the front? We tried one on with it in white (the dress is ivory) and it looked perfect!

Kind of like the thing on this dress http://tellthebride.com/wedding-dresses/y11204-_-caliopa_sophia-tolli_5134 except in the same ruched satin as the waist on my dress

Wow! The dress looks amazing :)

Don't worry about the sizing at all. My dress is a size.....well bigger than yours anyway :rotfl: but I'm not usually that size!

    Yay to you! :j

Wow, it is stunning. I love the shape of it and the back detail with the lace up and the long train is beautiful. Obviously we've not seen it on you, and you say the pic doesn't do it justice, but if you look half as good as it does in the pic you'll look fab!!
