SSE boiler cover cancelled

Hi All,
i've had SSE's boiler cover on my boiler for the last 12months, all without issue.
Thursday evening i had my annual inspection, and was told that my boiler has asbestos, so they can no longer cover it.
i have been paying £16 ish per month for just over a year.
now i have been told i can claim back the last years payments, BUT does anyone know if i can also claim back interest?

Its worth a punt to argue the toss with them, But all they'll give you is the BoE base rate, which works out at about 50p. Is it worth it?

You were insured, you didn't need it, now you're getting your money back. I'd take the money and run On the minus side, your boiler is at least 25 years old, probably will need repairs sooner rather than later, and anyone who knows what they're doing won't touch it. Start saving for a replacement. I'm amazed they insured such an old clunker at all. Probably would have claimed they couldn't get the parts and tried to sell you a new one!
