Travel Insurance: Why is annual so much cheaper than single trip??

Hey guys, I'm going abroad for 5 months. Slightly confused by travel insurance options.
Travel insurance quote for single trip of 5 months to China is £270.
Whereas annual worldwide multi trip insurance quotes is £26.
Why is there such a price difference? Am I missing something here?

Annual multi-trip usually has a limit for each trip eg 30 days, 90 days. Check the T&Cs0

Have to agree with Zagfles - there is no way you will get 5 months cover for £26.0

Some firms do up to 45 days away with annual worldwide cover. I checked the price the other day for my wife and I as a couple. I think £90 was the cheapest.0

Have you tried Travelsupermarket?
I got 4 months for a family of 3 for about £100.0 -

£150 still seems expensive if that's the cheapest you have found. Is that the cheapest you've found, or the best value? (e.g. minimal excess, better cover)0

Will give some more comparison websites a go...This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Make sure you know what you are covered for using the comparisons sites. They usually trim back the cover to exclude baggage, have a high excess, etc just so they appear at the top.0
