I'm helping my partner to reclaim PPI on Loans he's had over the years. We were sent a compensation form from Welcome Finance. My partner had an original loan with them which was opened in Feb 2008, the original loan amount was £11,896 and was re payable at £248 pm for 49 months. This account was closed in feb 2011. He has another loan with them which was taken out in September 2008, the original amount was £3,814 re-payable at £145 pm for 37mths. There is currently £379 outstanding on this loan. Will the compensation form cover both accounts or will it only be for the open one? As we have already posted it back and didn't put anything about old/new accounts on it. Can anyone also tell me what percentage of the monthly fee would have been PPI payment. So i know what sort of figure of compensation he is looking at, as these loan amounts are a total of £15,710.
My next question is after also decided to try for compensation on PPI on his other loans we have tried checking his credit report to find who they were with (He cant remember just knows they were loans for cars) On checking there is an entry for a loan taken in September 2004 no opening balance or lender shown but says the repayment figure was £346 pm for 5 yrs but was closed in June 2006! How can we find who this loan was with? And what the original loan amount was? Also how can we find information on other loans if there not on his credit file?
Thanks

Contact Welcome and ask them to look at the closed loan too, it is possible that the closed loan was paid off with the open one, if this is the case they should find this, they will settle the loan that is running with any redress they may give you, any remaining money will come back to you.
To have an idea what they will pay you back you need to know what the PPI total was with interest on both of the loans, this is what they redress and not the whole loan amount.
Got to go a sec, won't be long and I will answer your other question when I get back.0 -
No as far as i am aware the loans were seperate loans. So shall i ask for copies of statements for both loans??0

Hi, with the credit file loan, give whoever you got your report from and see if they can tell you who it is with.My next question is after also decided to try for compensation on PPI on his other loans we have tried checking his credit report to find who they were with (He cant remember just knows they were loans for cars) On checking there is an entry for a loan taken in September 2004 no opening balance or lender shown but says the repayment figure was £346 pm for 5 yrs but was closed in June 2006! To find other credit you have had you could go to the bank that you paid DD out of, they may be able to tell you what banks you had credit with if you paid these by DD.
Look through bank statements, these will show credit you had.
Without knowing who you had loans or CC with then you cannot get any info as you need to request this from the banks concerned.0 -

Even if they are separate loans, when one was taken out it could have been used to repay the second one, give Welcome a ring and ask for copies of the agreements, they should send you them and tell them you want to make a claim for mis sell with the other one as well.0 -
I have asked Welcome they want a £1 per account for a statement or £10 for full history held! So should i send this via cheque? Postal order? I will send a letter Monday asking for this info least then we'll know what he's actually paid in PPI and how much the loan totals were etc0

On his credit file there is also a Debt with Cabot which was originally a Yorkshire Bank Credit card. The original amount was £4301 and he still owes about £1900. How would i find out if PPI was paid on this ? Would i ask Cabot? Or ask the original lender for statements etc?0

I would send the £10 payment, you will get all the info you need then.I have asked Welcome they want a £1 per account for a statement or £10 for full history held! So should i send this via cheque? Cheque or PO is fine.0 -
Give Yorkshire bank a ring and ask, it could be that cabot are only collecting the debt for for them, if that is the case then you need to ask YB for the info, otherwise it is cabot, do the Sar request and ask for all info they hold on you and enclose £10 if neither will give you any info.On his credit file there is also a Debt with Cabot which was originally a Yorkshire Bank Credit card.
