DLA sorry no decision yet

DWP have had my son's paperwork 12 weeks on Monday and this morning I got a letter stating that they are sorry they've not given a decision yet but they will do it as quickly as possible (dated the 8th of this month)

I did actually speak to them last week and asked if they required anymore information and they said they had my supporting documentation and had applied and got back a report from his pead so they didn't need anymore evidence.

Has anyone else had this letter? If so when did you actually get a decision after getting it?

Getting rather frustrated now, was almost certain it would be done this month and I could go on a splurge for my son with the backpay before my newborn arrives and now it's looking less and less likely it will happen this month.

Thanks!:(

Thirteen weeks is about average. They are keeping you informed, I don't see what else you expect?

I'm sure it will turn out OK but don't count your chickens etc.

Yes - I had that letter, then an acceptance 4 days later. It is an automated 12 week letter I think, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Thank you Kurgon I appreciate that bit of insight. Just impatient for the little man. It's been a long time coming (we weren't aware we could claim for the past year) and with us having to move back from Germany, all the appointments , new people and changes I think it's about time it was his turn to have something nice that's all.

I have had the same in the past as it was about 14 weeks in. I then got the award letter about two weeks later. When I rang to see what the hold up was, as the car was due back in a month, it was because they had only just received my doctors/medical reports.

I had two of those letters while awaiting my DLA decision, I think this is because they wrote to both my GP and physio.

When your life is a mess, stop and think what you are doing before bringing more kids into it, it's not fair on them.
