Hi,
I bought a used latitude for the kiddlies to use, so DH can keep his laptop for his studies.
It connects just fine to the talktalk router when in the same room, but loses the connection when it's moved from there.
We've used laptops over the years and none have had this problem before. Am I supposed to do something to set it up other than click connect?

I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

Sounds as if it's not getting a strong enough wireless signal. How far are you moving it from the router? Does DH's laptop connect OK from the same location?
How old is the property, and what material are the walls constructed from? How do I add a signature?0 -
As you say that that you have not experienced problems elsewhere with other systems over the years, one probably have to discount external factors. Some of the considerably older machines with wireless capability of similar antiquity are nowhere as good as current systems. Some of the older Dell wireless cards were pretty awful - its probably not expensive to either upgrade the existing internal wireless card, or switch it off, and just add a current model wireless USB dongle - not expensive.0

Great idea about the dongle, why didn't I think of that? Doh.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
