Hello,
Could someone please tell me the best place to save about £10000 out of the following establishments:
Barclays
Lloyds
Halifax
NatWest
I'd prefer instant access (or, perhaps 3 times a year).
Thanks for any advice.

You could be really devious and check 4 web sites yourself!0 -
Are you married?
Have you used your ISA allowance yet?
How much notice are you prepared to give to withdraw any money?0 -
Yep, I'm married.
I've never had an ISA as I used to have an amazing offset mortgage.
I guess a couple of week notice is do-able. Perhaps even a month?0 -
Try Aldermore bank.
All online but easy to use with good rates.0 -
With Barclays you could have an ISA at 3.05% with £5640 and run a Monthly Saver paying 3.25% alongside that paying in £250 every month from your current account.
- BOTH these accounts are instant access whenever you want.0 -
You and your wife could both have an instant access isa?0

Not sure whether that link will work or not, they reckon that M&S money do the best cash ISA rates at the moment at 3%, however whilst you can buy it online you can only access by phone or post. Virgin Money do the best eISA, according to that website.
If you and your wife have your own cash ISA each then you have all of that money within ISA, job done!
I'd steer clear of savings accounts when you can go for ISA.
I know it is not one of the original 4 providers but hope this helps.0 -
Why have you chosen those 4 providers?
The cash ISA allowance is currently £5,640, but if you and your wafe open one, you could get tax free interest on all of this money.
At the moment, the best easy access ISA is with Cheshire Building Society (owned by Nationwide) and is paying 3.50% BUT this does include a big bonus (enhanced rate really) of 2.50% until 31/10/13. So you'll need to move the money after that date, as the rate will drop to 1%.
The M&S Money ISA is paying 3% but this doesn't include a bonus, so is a clean rate. However, the rate is variable so you need to make sure you keep a regular eye on the rate, in case it drops willy nilly!0 -

By the way, you have to be a Barclays customer to get the rate of 3.05%0 -

They are wrong.
Nationwide, Cheshire and the AA all offer 3.5% instant access cash ISAs (albeit with bonuses)
A tiny bit of responsible research finds these deals.0
