A 'B' is high for some people.

Not everybody can be, wants to be, or should be a straight A student. Its not the only measure of a person's value or indicator of their future happiness!

jinty that made me smile - as I sit here at 8.30am on a Sunday morning YD has just crept in through the back door and is watching a play for today on 'Gold' with her study books open in front of her.... she has a Chemistry AS tomorrow!

Her b/f is doing A2's and as they can't bear to be parted the agreement was she could go out last night if she studied today whilst he was at work.

The lengths they'll go to! I can't get her up at 8am on a Sunday morning - yet somehow even though he had to get up at 7 to go to work staying there was more attractive last night than staying here and sleeping until lunchtime!

I wish they'd revise more, I know they COULD get higher grades..... but they are doing it for themselves, so they'll get what they deserve.

At DD's school they are actually advised to do stuff "just for fun" particularly during exam times. DD plays cricket as her release valve.

Another vote for leaving her to it, after sitting down and chatting through HER aspirations.

DS3 was very miffed that Oxford Uni wouldn't interview him, and his Chemistry teacher was quite surprised too, so asked for some feedback which he then passed on to us. DS3 was ticking all the boxes until it came to "excellent GCSE results". DS3's were excellent in the subjects he cared about, middling in the subjects he was doing under sufferance.

It was the first time he'd come up against a situation where his natural charm and intelligence had failed him. And he can't say he wasn't warned ...
