ahhh!!
Just rang HMRC to see if i was due tax back for last year and was told I am missing a P60 from a company i signed up to years ago and worked for once.. I looked them up to contact them and request a P60 or statement of earnings and they have gone into liquidation...!
HMRC have said they need to close off that tax year before they can look at last year..
what can i do...?
Thanks,
Samantha

Companies only issue P60s to employees as at 5th April in a particular year, not to people who left before the 5th of April and I don't think you can get one for a past year. Your P45 is the equivalent, and the figures on your final payslip should be the same.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

Hello,
Thanks for the reply - the company i worked for once was a promotional agency - so i was signed up to their books. I was never issued a p45 as i was still registered with them, HMRC see that as i could have potentially received some income from them that year.. which i didnt but i need a p60 to prove it yet the company is in liquidation...
How can i get a p60 or statement of earnings...? or will HMRC be able to calculate a tax refund without it as they are in liquidation? they only went into liquidation in January so i could technically still worked for them that year...
ahhh stuck!
Thanks,

But you won't get a P60 in any event if there was no income from that employment - as they wouldn't be submitting a P14.
So you need to get HMRC to proceed without it?If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
