grease for windows

What is the best type of grease to use on doors and windows where plastic runs in metal runners?

I have up and over wooden windows with plastic runners in metal channels and plastic washers that are a bit stiff.

I have been using WD40 but it doesn't last all that long.

I did try grease but accidently got it on a good blouse when cleaning the windows so looking for something that wont stain or is easily washed out.

Try silicone grease, it is clear and does not stain as much as regular grease.

I've started using a candle rubbed along them since seeing it on superscrimmpers.

It is working well, the original tip was to use it on car window runners.

Silicon grease for me too. You can get it for around £3-£5 a spray can much like wd40. I got mine from Halfords but most hardware shops sell it

I too use a candle on my sliding doors and previously when I had sash windows. Seems to last a long while and doesn't wash away.
