Hi i have a quick question, i need to replace the dvd writer in a laptop and its a IDE/PATA drive all i really need to know is will any drive fit as long as its a IDE/PATA.

Yes. As long as it's a laptop PATA drive it will be fine.
There's only the slot-loading and tray-loading variants. Match what you already have.0 -
