My Cat

Hi all

Just got back from the vets with my lovely old rescue cat. He has always been a bit overweight but he needs to diet.

Has anyone got any experience of this? I'm not sure how much to feed him now. He is always hungry and I think he eats the other cats' food.

Feeding them separatly is going to be difficult too as the other cat will only eat a bit then go back later but if I leave the food out then the big fella will eat it!

Any ideas would be appriciated. At the moment then have a pouch of whiskas every morning and some dry food at night.

Thanks

We fed our cat Hills R/D (dry food) but it was initially prescribed from the vet although can be ordered online.

She has been having it since August last year and you feed the cat so many grams per day based on her target weight.

She was 7.1kg in August and I took her back just after the turn of the year and she was down to 6.3kg and from the looks of her now she is probably around her target weight of 5.5kg (need to get her weighed again).

She is as indoor cat mainly and very rarely goes out and she is playful at times which helps her get exercise, but the weight loss was mainly down to this food.

I got mine from medicanimal when it was on offer and got 2x5kg bags for just under £50 which has lasted about 5-6 months.

    Hope this helps.
  • Ohhhh total sympathies from me ....... my wee cat is overweight - but big cat is underweight so it's a nightmare!
