My son had the old type xbox that has finally given in so I have got the new 250gb for him.

He has a HD TV but never bothered with using xbox in hd but with now having a new one he would like to connect in HD. Do I need to buy the proper xbox microsoft HDMI lead or can I use any HDMI lead, just wondered as I read somewhere before that the cheaper ones weren't compatible if you are using a headset (he uses the wireless one)

Thanks

I would have thought you could use any HDMI lead but as the headset is involved im not entirely sure now but then again if its a wireless headset i wouldnt have thought the headset would affect the HDMI lead.
Apologies i cant give a definitive answer.

I use any hdmi cable with ours, you might need a optical audio adaptor for the headset if your son uses the red and white connectors for his headset, my headset uses optical out so dont need the adaptor anymore. they are about £4
