Carer needing future financial advice

Hi I would be grateful for any advice.
I'm in a situation I really dont have much money.
Post divorce I'm a single parent.Ex doesnt contribute has knocked up first thing he met.
I'm a bit worred what future holds.I have children but my eldest of 15 is special needs. He receives highest rate for care and low mobility.Chances of him leaving home and me working longer than part time are slim due to the fact I need to support him so heavily. He has two assistants in school.I receive carers allowance which I would loose if I earnt a small amount.I am looking at part time courses.Full time courses again I would lose my carers.I have alevels so need inspiration for something that could be studied part time to get me out of this hole in the future.
This year Ive vowed to try and put into place financial arrangements for mine and kids future but dont know where to start.
My ex spent all of my savings.
I dont have credit cards but do have an overdraft.I'm hoping a budgeting loan will help me clear that this year.
Obviously my income is limited but I have no credit cards I live within my means and am very thrifty.
My aunt gave me a hundred at xmas to treat me and kids so I put that in an isa as I had no backup money in case of anything breaking in house and me and kids had everything we needed.MSE helps me alot saving.
Ive managed to make that hundred now £300 since xmas.
What kind of pensions should I be looking at.I'm 35.I dont know what state provision there will be for carers.
Also what is the best way to save for my kids?Ive opened them savings accounts where I bank at abbey but havent alot to boast about in them yet.I'd like them all to have a lumpsum enough to buy and insure a first car or for a house deposit.
Any advice greatly appreciated as I dont know if there are any specific products out there.I'm also concerned I may end up cancelling out anything I may be entitled to upon retirement.

Wow, you are really doing well. :)

Good news for you on this front, the rules will change from 2010 greatly to your advantage and thus a full state pension should be quite possible.

If you are interested in money and finance, why not try volunteering at the CAB?They will give you training, especially about state pensions and benefits, so it's like a free education.

I'm sure there's going to be big demand for people who know about money in future - in teaching for a start: finance lessons in schools are on the agenda but there is a big teacher shortage. Debt management is another expanding area, as well as mortgage broking/financial advisory work.
    Trying to keep it simple...;)
