House insurance - cracked garden wall

At the moment I can't locate the policy document for my buildings insurance, so in general, is a brick garden wall (which is not attached to the house), covered under buildings insurance ? It has large horizontal and vertical cracks which I suspect has been caused by a tree 2 feet from the wall.

Subsidence damage to garden walls are often excluded, even if they arent they carry a £1,000 excess and put the dreaded "history of subsidence" marker against the property meaning you'll struggle with future insurance and may even devalue your home because the issues future owners would have getting insurance.

Is it classified as 'subsidence' even if it is tree roots that have caused the damage?
