Double barrel surname already - change of name help for when married?

Posting without judgement .... but.... please don't give your children a triple-barreled name. It also probably won't have the desired effect of keeping all the names in your children's identities anyway. I know that all the children I teach who have double-barreled names (I don't know any with triple!) just use the first of the two names when they write their name on their work and sign things etc.
I don't think this is something that can easily work, to be honest. It may be that you have to decide which is most important to you - keeping your old name or taking your husband's name - and go with that. I'm sure no one would judge you for keeping your own name - loads of women do these days. As someone else said you could put your husband's name as an extra middle name, though in practice it would rarely be used. You would know it was there though.0 -
PS I don't think a triple barreled name would be pretentious, btw - just really awkward!0

If husband 2B wanted to take your surnames as well as his own, he would need to do this in advance of the marriage, usually by deed poll.
I believe you can simply add his surname to your existing name at the wedding ceremony (though I am not a lawyer) in the same way that names are conjoined to become double barreled (your existing surname is simply a surname, the fact it is hyphenated doesn't change the fact that its your surname) Usually your husbands name is added to the end of your existing name.
I can understand you wishing to keep your existing identity and at the same time reflect the fact that you have married. My OH is debating whether she will keep her current name professionally or possibly hyphenate it with mine, though she intends just using mine socially.0
