Credit Cards that do not show on CRA ?

Hi all,

Have looked/searched through previous threads as I know this has been covered before but was unable to locate what I was seeking...

I understand that First Direct, HSBC and also LloydsTSB do not make use of the Credit Reference Agencies (unless you default) and build up their own history with their customers usage. Are there any other providers out there that also do this??

I specifically need another 0% card that does not show with the CRA's soonish and wish to know my other options.

Thanks in advance for any help...!

Lopo

I upgraded my First Direct Card to Gold on 22/02/05 and my Credit File with Experian shows 'Enquiry'.
I tried to up the limit with FD online on 25/03/05 and another search has been done again showing 'Enquiry'.
No specific reference to a Credit Card application

With Lloyds TSB I acquired their Platinum card in January this year
admittedly I already had a current account with them and no search was done.

With HSBC I applied to open a Credit Card with them last year and the report on Experian says 'Credit Card'. I don't have a Current Account with them.

  • I had a Lloyds TSB createcard which I closed about a year ago, this account is on my file with callcredit, but not experian or equifax

Thanks guys,...but you've mentioned the same providers!! Good other related info though. Not fussed about those initial queries, its the regular monthly or so updates that I wish to do without.

Just wondering if there are any other providers out there at all !? Any one please!?

    Thanks, Lopo

Lloyds TSB do record data - I have received Experien and Equifax over the past few weeks and if I recall correctly both have details recorded (including payments) and I have not missed any payments etc.

I see HSBC cards on my reports though they were through HFC (owned by HSBC) as well as LTSB.
  • Just out of interest, and please don't think me rude/nosy for asking, what's the reason for wanting to avoid your monthly payments being recorded?

Is it a 'hide-debt' kind of thing?

It can certainly make a difference in spreading out stoozed debt, I guess the same principle could be applied to real debts. Personally I've found the info on who searches where more useful.
  • I've found it can also work against you - my first credit card was Lloyds, which I had for years before getting any others. Of course, when the new card companies then went to search my file it was as though I had no credit history at all and had to send them proof that I had (it was just 'hidden'). Something to bear in mind also

As Gal said, it aids in hiding debts, stoozed or real, hence making getting other financial products easier.

I have enough activity going on as it is, so thats why I'm looking for those cards that do not routinely report activity in particular.

There must be others out there than those mentioned, any ideas ?
