car hire and baby seat

I am hiring a car in Pisa later on this month for 15 days and require a car seat - Europcar would like to charge me £75 just for the car seat which seems expensive. Now I'm flying the day before my family so could easily buy one before they get there. I intend to go to a hypermarket in Pisa anyway to pick up shopping do you think that I would be better off getting a car seat there? It's a Carrefour so should stock them. I know asda have them here for about £25.

Have a look at carhire3000.com
They didn't charge us at all [as far as I can remember] for a baby seat0 -
Presumably they have their own car seat already? apart from perhaps the budget airlines many (e.g. BA) allow the car seat to be taken for free as part of their hold allowance, I think maybe £10 per flight on ryanair, free on easyjet possibly depending on the age of the child and what else you're bringing - is that an option?
(this is why I'm flying to Pisa with BA & baby this month because the pricing worked out pretty much the same as ryanair after all the extras, and we got the added bonus of free choice of seat straight after booking etc.)0
