finding an independent timber surveyor?

i have a problem with floorboards in understairs cupboard i suspect could be dry rot.
i am trying to find an independant surveyor in the north east guisborough area, all the specialist surveyors i can find listed are well away from my area.
i can find plenty of RICS surveyors.
can anyone advise please?

    thanks Ionkontrol. have already checked pca, seems the nearest independent surveyor is doncaster, long way from where i live
