Smoother Walls

Just about finished getting the kitchen done and the next task will be to sort the parts of the walls which don't have splashback on them. This is primarily the areas above the wall units but there are also a couple of other parts on a wall with no units on it.

The walls previously had tiles on them so there a bit of a mess underneath. I'm not too keen on getting a plasterer in as I'm trying to save some cash so I was wondering if you get some sort of paintable panels that you can fit to walls (like plasterboard but thinner)?

plasterboard will be cheapest and quickest to install.
why not continue with the normal tiles?

can you still buy that tile on a roll stuff?

It would have to be thin plastboard as it will be getting fitted on top of the existing plasterboard.

have you thought about vinyl wallpaper?
you get stuff specially for kitchens, and stuff that looks like tiles etc, there's a good choice and it covers bumps and lumps surprisingly well.

focus have rolls about the £10 mark but you can get them cheaper
Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.
