Council trees damaging my garage

Hi MSE

There is a council tree in front of our house that is causing damage to the floor of my garage because of the roots. Which council department do I contact? What rules/laws should I quote?

Thanks in advance

Contact the local council, ours is in the Environment Dept/conservation/trees.. you can e-mail them usually about a problem , I did this when a tree outside my house died, they came and inspected it and 2wks later came and cut it down quite efficient..

You don't need to quote any laws, and it just sounds silly when people start quoting laws and regulations when they don't know anything about them

Just contact the council, via their complaints system if need be, and let them sort out which dept manages the tree. It will probably be passed to their insurers if there is major damage
