Lloyds taking out money and leaving me past my overdraft - help!

Lloyds have re-debited £100 from my account which has left me past my £240 overdraft limit.
I had to pay this back as a dodgy company took £100 out of my account and Lloyds claimed it was all my fault etc.
This is not my fault at all, and I am a victim of identity theft which the bank ignored.
Is there anyway I can claim this back? My tax credits will not even pay to get a withdrawal amount. I am desperate, and need the cash.

Who is the dodgy company? Why did they take money? How did they get your details? I presume this is a disputed Visa debit transaction that the bank have investigated
You need to give us some information if we are to assist, but broadly speaking, if the bank have investigated, and are happy that it's a genuine transaction then you need to raise a complaint about this. During the process of raising a chargeback query you would have been advised that if they found no evidence of fraud/error that they would charge the money back to your account.
Timeline and more info would be needed to advise you further.0 -
These days customers claim "dodgy" companies are taking their money. These tend to be wonga, quickquid, paydayloans etc.
Customers "forget" about actually applying for these loans and also forget about having to pay them back.0 -
These "dodgy" pay day loan companies though have previously been reported to have made payment to a fraudster and then when it comes to paying back debiting an account which has been skimmed through a cloned debit card.0

The more unscrupulous payday loan companies, or loan "brokers", have been known to sell customer information on to third parties.
Even so, front-line staff at banks are getting more and more cynical due to the number of customers they have conversations like this with:
Customer: WHERE'S MY MONEY?!!
Staff: Could you give me a bit more information?
Customer: WHY CAN'T I GET CASH OUT? IT SAYS NO FUNDS AVAILABLE!
Staff: Let's take a look at the account. Yes, I can see £1,140 going out to, uh, Wonga.com this morning. It's reduced your balance to under £10, which is why you can't withdraw any money.
Customer: WONGA? NEVER HEARD OF THEM! THIS IS FRAUD!
Staff: Well I can see £1,000 going into your account from Wonga.com two weeks ago. Could that be it?
Customer: ...

You are so right. Staff are cynical over these transactions. It actually has become a big joke now.
People always conveniently forget about the money which was put into their accounts a few weeks back and pretend its fraud when the pay day loan companies take it back!
To stop this from happening on such a wide scale level, some accounts are being closed down when all these charge backs happen and its obviously fraud on the customer's path.
Watch out mush.0
