What must he/she be paying to SAVE over £1,000 on a year's insurance?

Josephaa, as with anything, you get what you pay for. Have you checked the policy to ensure it offers the cover you require?

Consider such things as your contents sums insured and policy limits for items such as jewellery/valuables. Plus, just take a read through the definitions (contents for example).

One I don't think this policy offers cover for trace and access which many do nowadays. This is utilised on buildings. If there is no T&A cover, bear in mind that the policy will only offer cover for damage resultant from an insured peril and will not cover costs to establish the cause of a loss (for example, a leaking pipe hidden in a wall/floor, which may be leaking).

I can't find the policy wording online but looking at the CBS website sales options, the policy seems to offer standard cover which the customer then adds to for not only possessions away from the home and accidental damage, which is not unusual but also for technology and entertainment.

Best to make sure now and not be covered adequately in the event of a claim. Fingers crossed though that you will not need to make one!
