Air conditioning failure within 6 months
I purchased a car (an 07 plate corsa) back in september from a main dealer franchise. I received a years network Q warranty with the car which has come in handy no less than 6 times :rotfl:
My issue is that I had noticed the aircon wasn't working so booked it in with them. After testing they told me there is a leak on the pipe and a new one fitted with re-gas is £350. My warantee doesn't cover this.
I'm just wondering whether I should approach vauxhall directly about it. The part I hear has been considered 'Not fit for purpose' and a improved replacement now used. Any car less than 3 years old gets the part replaced when it goes wrong but there is no recall.
We are now over 6 months but I have proof the fault was reported just before.
Any help would be great, Chris

No harm in asking for a goodwill gesture but bear in mind your car is over 5 years old. However the fact its been over 6 months since the fault was fixed is likely to be an issue.0

If you get it fixed then make sure that you use it regularly - once a week at least. I've lost count of the number of people I know whose A/C stops working because they're obsessed by its supposedly dire effect on fuel consumption. I have a 1998 Jag. which has never needed any attention to its A/C.
