I am rather hoping we can take the kids abroad at some point this year. This is not yet certain.
Am just browsing and wondering which country would be the cheapest? Is there a cheaper country to holiday in? or are they all much of a muchness?

I've just got hold of some really cheap plane tickets to morocco. The cost of living is a lot cheaper than Europe and a lot of the youth hostels and Riads have private family rooms.Paid off since 06/05/2012 £50/£4200 NSD May 3/10
SwagBucks May 851/4245 (£5 /£25)

Many countries are very cheaper - but unfortunately they tend to be further away and cost more money to get to.0 -
Lots of variables.
Door to door costs, extras like parking att he airport add up.
number of people ages and budget would give a clue where might be possible.
Remember cheapest is not always best value.0 -
As getmore4less says - look at the door-to-door costs as well as the cost of food and drink when you're there
In the Eurozone, it's hard to beat the Costa Del Sol
Flights to Malaga are plentiful and relatively cheap
Pick a resort between Malaga and Fuengirola that's serviced by the wonderful train that leaves from the airport and you've already saved a good wedge
Don't be put off using the train, it goes from right outside the arrivals hall, it's fast, easy and all the announcements and signs are in English
Last time out we went all the way to the end of the line at Fuengirola and it was only €2.400 -

This is exactly what I do whenever I feel like a cheap few days in the sun. There are loads of cheap flights from everywhere (except Heathrow!) to Malaga and I always book accommodation separately (Alpharooms are usually good value). Once you get there you just jump on the train so there's no faffing around with transfer buses, taxis or car hire. If you get bored of one resort then just take the train the next one. Maybe the Costa Del Sol isn't the most exotic destination in the world, but it's easy to get to, good value for money, sun is almost guaranteed and it's very child friendly.0
