I'm in the process of ordering a new car and will need Gap insurance, as the car is on lease. With my last two I've just gone with the broker I have ordered it through but this time I am gonna shop around.
Would anyone recommend any companies for this?

Your insurance should give you new for old in the first year.0

Some gap insurance providers allow you to defer the start date for 12 months. I just Googled Deferred Gap Insurance and found three that would allow you to defer the start date.
This should help as these guys know there stuff http://www.which.co.uk/money/insurance/guides/gap-insurance/. They did an independent reviewHappiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0 -
I would check out the deferred option before you do anything. The difference is price is not amazing but it can save a lot if you are looking at the higher levels of cover and long periods of time. This might help https://gapinsurance123.co.uk/Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0

I have been looking for the same thing 123 gap insurace seem fair and really competitive when you want to defer for a year.
They do not charge for amendments either.
ALA look good too but these don`t allow deferred GAP.
ALA can be bought through Quidco to shave a few more quid off.
Just check to see if your insurer actually covers the car new for old for 12 months first.
I prefer the plicy that replaces the car.
I`m getting £5000 off a new Ford so return to invoice wouldn`t suit.
The Which report on GAP is a really useful read.
