MacBook

I'm thinking of buying a MacBook, any tips on where to get one?

I'm thinking in tersm of trade-offs between price, tech support and cashback etc

with apple products there is very little difference from where you buy it from, usual recommendation is direct from apple (this way you can also have a play with one to see if you like it) the other is john lewis because of the extended garentee
    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

Look at the refurbished ones from the Apple Store. Same guarantee as a new one.

The only way of getting one significantly cheaper is if you know anyone who is a student in higher education (or works in higher education) or someone who works for a corporate partner.

Outside of that it is going to be the referb store or cashback via Quidco etc.

There is increasing talk of the next generation to come out soon (they normally do every 12 months) and so once that comes out some retailers will discount the old ones and apple will move their old stock to the referb store.
