need advice on sanding/restaining a garden table and chairs

I've just purchased a 2nd hand garden table and 4 chairs off ebay, I got it reasonably cheap cos it needs restaining or whatever you do to wooden tables lol.

Does anyone have any advice on the best products to do this? I have been looking at cuprinol garden furniture finish stuff in teak, but im unsure as to what it would really require. The only thing I do know for sure is that I dont want it mahogany coloured as I dont like the dark colour lol.

Any advice/opinions gratefully received :o

    Hi

I used Dulux Woodstain, it comes in a variety of colours, I used dark oak and another tip look in 99p stores and poundland, etc, as I bought mine from there, can't beat that Dulux woodstain for 99p!

I did get the woodstain a while ago, but it's always worth a try to look in these shops

Did you have to sand it first or could you just apply the woodstain? I have a table similar to the one bought here and it has faded a lot due to exposure to the weather.

Depends what wood it is before you can decide on the best treatment. If you let me know, I can advise you on the best products. We manufacture garden furniture so have a bit of knowledge.

Mine is very similar to this one. http://www.diy.com/nav/garden/outdoor-living/garden-furniture-sets/-material%3Ewood/Blooma-Aland-Garden-Table-and-4-Chairs-Set-12087561

I have to leave it outside (with a waterproof cover) as I have no space inside. The chair soft seats do stay indoors. The chairs still look ok but the table has faded.

Teak Oil or Linseed Oil if you want it to look good.
