Pet insurance (kennel Club) Claim rejected - where do I stand

I got a 8 week old pup. KC registered breeder, all legit.
Took pup to vets for jabs and found a lump.
All ok I thought, KC give you 4 weeks free insurance.
Submitted a claim and they've turned around and said that the policy was set up AFTER the lump was found, therefore the dog had an existing condition. stating the policy was set up 1.5 hrs after the vets appointment.
Reading T&C, the breeder had 3 days to set up the policy after the pup was released, which was done. How was I to know that the pup wasn't insured. All the information you're given implies that it's in place.
Where do I stand on this. I'm feeling physically sick as it's a big bill that I just can't pay. Thankfully pup will make a full recovery.

If what you say is correct, then no cover was in place so the insurer has no liability.
So your only recourse is to train your sights on the vendor.0 -
Thanks. I'm not holding out any hope there.
It's easier to argue with a faceless corp than it is to with people who invited you into their home.
I have sent them an email asking for assistance in talking to the insurance co.0
