Extension for disabled parent

I am struggling to source any information / help ref building an extension or annexe for my wife's disabled parents.
Can anyone offer any help or highlight any websites which will provide information?
I am particually interested in help with design & a planning visit to site to get an indication of what we may be allowed to do.

It depends what you really need. You can design generally for disabled use, or specifically for the parents needs

Your local council will have a specific team dealing with CSDPA works, so you can get advice from them even if you wont qualify for grant aid

Planning permission wise, it wont matter too much as it will be treated as a standard extension

If you do need planning and building regulation permission, remember that the fees are waived for extensions for disabled use

Its not difficult though. You need wider doorways, level access, easy circulation space, and easy-reach sockets and switches. Hand or grab rails in various locations
