MBNA (AA) credit card sleight of hand

To other viewers, I have a low capacity for dealing with idiocy and this is a personal failing of mine. Unfortunately this seems to be a distinct disadvantage on these forums, given the exponential increase in stupid/inane/bleating posts about being caught by T&Cs that posters didn't/couldn't/wouldn't understand, and I find a direct approach usually gets the message across ie it's your fault. One mans rudeness is anothers forthrightness. I'm afraid I didn't see the memo that this site was about having a giant love-in blaming everyone else for our problems. All this is distracting attention from people who have genuine issues that are complicated of difficult to resolve.
This is especially true 25 posts into a thread when someone still argues about when their payments are applied. This is where I am unable to control my urge to point out their folly to them, and that despite it being fashionable to think so, it's not the banks fault that they can't understand a rather basic financial instrument.
I won't feel upset at being ignored - let's hope I don't get quoted.0 -
The sleight of hand (sleight has an 'e', BTW) is that advance payments are not counted towards the next bill.
ALL payments are counted towards the current statement. Why would you expect anything else? <confused>Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorn is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that she is pink; we logically know that she is invisible because we can't see her."0 -

As it stands it seems that they are happy to attibute things to the last or next statement in the way that is most advantageous to them.
I wish I could find their exact wording, but I can't find the current T&Cs online (and it looks like the site is down at the moment).0 -

Is this what you're looking for?...
We will show the amount you have to pay, the date by which you must make the payment and how you can pay, on your statement.0 -
I expected the month's statement to be closed at the due by date, which is when they do the calculations, and at which point it would cease to be current.

I don't think most people will be happy with your system as the credit will reduce to 15 days only before paying charges eg statement date 1 st of the month, due date 20th, next statement 21st and due date in around 15 days.0
