Fitting new blind on ceiling

Got new double glazing window in the kitchen and the only way I could fit the blind is top fixing on the ceiling. The ceiling is plasterboard and there is nothing to support the bracket. Pl can anybody advise what option there is? Thanks

Why can't you attach the blind to the wall? do the windows come literally right up to the ceiling?
Is it not possible to attach the blind to the underside of the lintel inside the window recess?
If you have to attach it to the plasterboard ceiling, then you need to find the joists above to screw into, once you're sure there are no pipes or electrics in the way.
I suppose one other option (which would look awful) would be to use a strong adhesive (Something like No More Nails, or Gripfill) to attach a wooden batten which you could then screw the blind to...

Batten across the joists and then hang the blind from there if it HAS to be ceiling hung.

Why not in the reveal of the window?

Go to BandQ and search for plaster board fixings, these are like small ice cream cones in plastic or metal. The coil effect screws into the board. depending on the type of blinds, you may get extras brackets, use all of them. They normally come in a big bag, so look for smaller quantities. Drilkl a small hole (same size as the pointy end) and screw in with a cordless drill or screwdriver). I have 6ft wide wooden venetians done this way. Not because of the windows height, but becasue I wanted the whole blind to be above the window when in the up position.
