Good to here from you fc.
Yes, lots of retailers use putdoor events to sell.....and surpirisingly unrelated ones...e.g. Lots of hot tub sellers at county shows.
Edit: horse and hound online did run somekind of online shopping extrvaganza when badminton was cancelled, not sure how that went but muct have been helpful. Tbh, lots of the stuff i might buy at places like badminton i can get online at comparative prices now anyway...and not drag it around all day trudging through mud or baking in the sun, or both at the same time, so its all the same t me!0 -

Personally I didn't read it so much as them complaining? From a quick google it looks like Coke are majority shareholders, rather than innocent having been completely taken over.
In some ways its not surprising that there is limited appetite for the multitude of festivals this year. I guess they were hoping this would tie in, but either people just feel too busy or too poor or were waiting to see what the weather would be like nearer the time.0 -

Just be aware in just about every single case whatever is said in public/press and real reasons behind the scenes are wildly different!0 -

I'm pretty sure it will be only Glastonbury not taking place as a result of the Olympics (and they do have a 'fallow' year every so often anyway).
There has been an enourmous growth in festivals. Whether they be food, drink, music or whatever and there were signs last year that the market was well over-saturated with high profile late cancellations and busts.
The Harvest festival (Alex James' farm, attended by Cameron, Jeremy Clarkson and assorted other t*ssers) went bust last year owing £1m to creditors from 2011.
There were 7000 attendees - so basically £140 per head.
There are plenty of shysters and incompetents out there.
As far as Innocent go.
I used to buy Innocent smoothies (for kids), however they have sneakily reduced pack size from 1000ml to 750ml in 2011 while keeping the prices the same. It's the equivalent of a 33% increase.
Not so innocent then.US housing: it's not a bubble - Moneyweek Dec 12, 20050 -

Errr no, Olympic rules mean that no events can take place during the Olympic events. It's not a rule that the people in the government or previous government want so that the Olympics go well and nothing matters but because those are the rules. It happens in every country that has held the Olympics.
Explains a lot really.
linky to these rules?0 -
