Egg PPI Claim - Loan paid off in 2005

Just wondering if anyone has any success stories claiming PPI back on a loan which ended over 6 years ago?
My loan was with egg (£14000), taken out in 2003 and paid off early, in 2005, and I do have some paperwork to back it up and am wondering whether its worth applying as it is over the '6 year cut off point' and I do realise that the success rates probably aren't that great.
Would like to hear from anybody if they have been successful though.

People have won mis sell with PPI from the 90s so get the claim in, if you paid the PPI in with the loan payment each month and not as a separate payment, this is Single Premium PPI and is the most upheld of all PPI claims, it is a loan on the loan that you paid back over the term with interest, if yours was this way then use this as a reason.0

i would apply if i was you. I had a loan with egg also taken out in 2003. (but unlike you i never completed the loan due to financial dificulties and me entering an IVA)
filled the forms in mid march, received a letter a few week later stating that they where looking into it. didnt think much of it after that then last week low and behold i received word from them that they will be sending me out a cheque for just shy of £2000 within the next 2 weeks0 -

Did you have your paperwork for the loan etc? I don't have any paperwork, account numbers or specific dates, but it will have been around the same time as yours, and I know it was mis-sold. They added my PPI to the loan and gave me a pro-rate rebate when I settled it early. I think I'm going to have to send a SAR form to them. I take it you'll have gone to Barclaycard for your claim?0 -

I have now written to egg and i'll see what happens. Looked at my credit report, but because the loan finished in 2005 its not even mentioned on it unfortunately. Oh well, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Thanks for your responses to this.0

Just a quick update to this story. I received (at the weekend) a letter confirming that I'm to receive a cheque for £2341 from EGG regarding mis-sold ppi. Can't believe it. The breakdown actually states that I had 2 lots of ppi with EGG (I only had documents for one loan), as well as the 8% interest added on, etc. All in all it took them about 7 weeks to sort it out.
So chuffed and so grateful to the people on this website for all their help.
I'm still waiting to hear about my ppi claim from Tesco Personal Finance on a loan I took out in 2001 but i'm a bit more optimistic after the 'EGG' outcome.0 -
