clamping help

hopefully some one can advise me on this one, a work colleague was clamped on the weekend by some dodgy clamper who i cannot see listed on the SIA approved clampers list. If this is the case then does he have any comeback on the store (poundstretcher) with them employing non approved clampers on their property and demanding a refund from them.:)

What cowboys were these and did your friend get receipt?0

Are you looking up the name of the clamping company, or the operative? It is the operative who will be licensed, not the company.
There ought to be an SIA number on the receipt he was given, try searching on that.
Ultimately you need confirmation that it was Poundstretchers (and not, for example, a property management company) that hired the clampers, so you ensure you sue the right people. Sueing the clampers on their own will be a waste of time.Je Suis Cecil.0 -
soon as he retrieves the invoice from the bin i will let you know
thanks0 -
He might need the invoice as Exhibit A, so to speak!Je Suis Cecil.0

I doubt Poundstretcher own the store. Find out the landowner.0

spoke to manager of poundstretcher aware of clamping company but he only deals with them when new permits required.
car park does state employees only permit req even though purchase of heavy item was made.
around the clock or ATC is the company in question but ticket does state notice is served by franchise operator of above
penalty notice brings up a few questions
no land line number only mobile
No SIA number listed on SIA website for company or on ticket
half the post code scribbled off the penalty notice
time noted 12.30am not pm
i can upload the ticket later0 -
Big question to ask of poundstretcher is who owns their car park and who does the clamper have the contract with.
If there is no SIA number on ticket whoever that is may have some problems.
Poundstretcher- if it's their car park- should be TELLING the clamping company to refund. Not ASKING.0 -
already asked the question to the store they do not know so have emailed poundstretcher directly asking these questions
i am also going to pop down to the car park later to take a pic of one of the signs attached to a wall that is leaning over and also on the corner on one of the shops0
