Scotland Trip - September

Hello,
OH and I would like to go to Scotland for a week in September (once children have gone back to school). We are thinking of driving up there and going to a few places, e.g. Edinburgh, Lochness, Eilean Donan Castle etc. Obviously we would need to stop on the way as we come from the midlands. We were thinking of staying in a travelodge or B&B. Has anyone got any good recommendations for an itinerary for the week or places to stay/visit.

Flew to Edinburgh, straight to Falkirk ( Wheel) then to Stirling , Drove over to Oban (Crauachan) back to Loch Lomand , last two days in Edinburgh .
Mainly very nice hotels , but one VERY good BB in Gartmore ( L.L 00 -
We have done it a couple of times from Derby and stop at a travel lodge just on the outskirts of Berwick upon tweed.
Have breakfast at the Morrisons just opposite instead of the silly breakfast packs they give you.Sealed Pot Challenge Member Number #19060
