Thomas Cook Honeymoon Fund

This has now closed down am I now a bit worried about the money my guests have put in already. They have put up a helpline number but its a premium number (no surprise) and you sit on hold for ages. Apparently letters are being issued with refunds this week but I honestly don't believe this.

Just to make people aware if they have accounts with TC with money still in

  • Hi,

We had money in our fund after our wedding in Feb. We asked for the balance to be sent to us in the post as vouchers about 3 weeks ago and nothing came in the post. We then received a letter yesterday telling us that our account was now closed and there was £0 in balance.

I called the 0844 number immediately to ask what was happening and told that they would investigate and call me back. I called them late in the day so am awaiting this morning for them to call. I guess they won't call and so I'll have to call them back to chase up the enquiry I made about the money that belongs to my wife and I [typical].

Has anyone else basically had their wedding guests wedding fund contributions stolen from them? I am now having to spend my day off chasing Thomas Cook [or one of their contractors who they have now broken ties with I gather] for money rather than getting on with the things I was planning to do. Annoying.

I can't help with your problem, but have you tried say no to 0845 for a landline number to save you keep paying the expense of ringing them up?
I'm never offended by debate & opinions. As a wise man called Voltaire once said, "I disagree with what you say, but will defend until death your right to say it."
Mortgage is my only debt - Original mortgage - January 2008 = £88,400, March 2014 = £47,000 Chipping away slowly! Now saving to move.

    Is Martin aware of this?

I'm a bride to be and haven't seen anything about this on the wedding forum
