What questions should I ask a financial adviser on a first time buyer mortgage

Hi, I have located a financial adviser who states he is whole of the market. He has also said his fee comes from the company he identifies for our mortgage. Is this true or will we be paying him in some way through the mortgage.
Also what questions are important to ask?
He is due to visit tomorrow (8th March) at 6pm so any advice would be helpful.:beer:

i had a fin adv that earned there money from commision through northern rock (mort provider) but just be careful ask about his charges also if he says things that do not make sense ask him to be clear and explain, you should be ok.
