Asda/Santander and Section 75

I have had a floor installed [by a local supplier] and it is unsatisfactory. [The supplier so far has not resolved the issues to my satisfaction]

I paid several hundred pounds by [Asda] credit card so I phoned Santander, who act on behalf of Asda, to ask them about the procedure for chargeback.

The agent stated there was no comeback. This was confirmed by the supervisor (Etn 59780) who offered to credit the account with £25 for the inconvenience that I had suffered.

I have always thought that faulty good were coverd under Section 75. What do forum members think?

What do you mean by the above? Who is the issuer of the credit card you used to pay? Since when did Asda start fitting flooring? Have you actually complained to Asda yet?

Chargeback and Section 75 are two very different things.

Section 75 comes into play when a supplier has failed in their contractual obligations. You need to be very careful how you define unsatisfactory. You also need to be aware that the card company will continue to give the retailer time to fix it if that is what they are doing.
