I have just failed my ESA from IB medical and am going to appeal it but have been told by DWP that my last payment of IB will be on 24th May and that if i want to still be paid after that date i will have to send one in to them but do i send it in before the 25th May?
im asking as im going to see the CAB next Thursday the 17th as they will be helping me with the appeal and was thinking if i should wait to send it in after i have seen them and send it in with my appeal form.
Also have been looking at all my letters from DWP and my payments i get that are stopping are income support as all the letters state income support which has disabled allowances in it so is that why i had to have a medical as im confused if i was on IB or IS as letters state.
While the im waiting for the appeal to take place will they pay me for the whole time till appeal or just 13 weeks as on the ESA page on there website says something about 13 weeks also how much would we get(are married with a child)?
on a side note a member of my step family works for DWP and i asked her yesterday if they are getting a lot of appeals overturned and she said yes and that they are finding it hard to cope with it all and that she even thinks that ATOS are getting so many wrong and that they are a joke so its sad that even DWP staff are thinking along the same lines as us.

What I wouls advise is when you have been to the CAB, ring the DWP and make an appointment at your local jobcentre to have the appeal and certficate faxed over to the benefit centre. Make sure you get a verified copy of the certificate from them. It usually takes about a week for them to validate the appeal and put the new benefit into payment.0

Ive been to get Doctors note from my GP which runs out on June 7th so will the next one have to be with DWP by the time this one runs out on June 7th or can they get it after the 7th but as long as the 2nd one starts from the 7th June?0

I should imagine all you need to do when you get the new one, is date it from the expiry date of the old one and send it in as soon as you get it. even if you send it in a week after the old one runs out, I can't see any reason why any benefits should not be backdated to the start date of the new one.0

You need to send it in (registered post) at least a week before the end of the last note, in order to avoid the benefit being stopped, and having to restart it.
They take typically at least a week to open post.
Phone them, and say you've sent the note recorded delivery, and what time it covers.
All people on IS on grounds of disability, as well as those on IB are being reassessed and moved onto ESA.
Once the reassessment process has succeeded or failed, you are either on, or have failed to get - ESA.
You are not on your original benefit.0 -
If i were you i would make an appointment at your local Jobecentre to get them faxed over - at least you know they have got them.Ask for them to put a note on your records that this has been done.
Your relative is right about the staff at the DWP. I have just been medically retired from DWP after many years and i have never known morale so low - i'm glad to be out.

There are several issues with this.
Firstly - as I understand it, some jobcentres won't do this at all.
Secondly - there is no tracking.
The staff cannot access your ESA records.
Recorded - or special delivery post has the large advantage that you are not faced with problems if they say they have lost it.
You have a tracking number from a third party.0
