Insulating above suspended ceiling

Me again but not about bathrooms this time;)
We have an 80's suspended ceiling in our kitchen with around 2ft of space above it. Kitchen is always blumming freezing so just thought can we insulate it with the bog standard rolls of insulation?
Thought it could also be a nice job for DH as he's making me wait for the bathroom to be done:rotfl:

Not a good idea - particularly if theres lighting involved. Take away the ceiling which you should probably - ghastly things - and you'll still have your cold issues. You'd be better off fixing that draughty back door TBH. Upsize the radiator perhaps?

Ta Keystone but we like our suspended ceiling-lol
Windows and doors are DG with no drafts coming through. Can't increase the size of the radiator either due to where it is. Stupid question alert though - it's a really old double radiator. Would a new one the same size give out more heat. Is it btu thingys:o0 -
Yes I meant in heat provision not size. Modern rads are far more efficient than older ones an a physically equivalent sized modern rad will produce much more heat.
Yes if you like its BTU thingys.
