Scratches on new double glazing

We've just had new double glazing put in and have found lots of scratches on some of the panes of glass.
Spoke to he company about this and they said that some scratches are allowed.
I asked them if they would be happy in showing potential customers the windows and the MD told me that we were being too fussy.
As far as im aware, if im spending £x thousands on windows, i want them to be fault free.
Where do I stand on this?

Chances are they are Fensa registered. I can't quite recall what role Fensa plays, but might be worth looking on their website to see whether they can assist.0

fensa are only a goverment set up self certifaction scheme and offer no protection to the customers.
they shouldnt be any marks in the units, but some companys use a 5 meter rule, meaning if you cant see it in sunlight from 5 meters then its passable. this is mainly for glass inperfections though not scratches.
hope this helps good luck0 -
The GGF have guidelines http://www.ggf.org.uk/publication/quality_of_vision_double_glazing and an arbitration service if the comapany are members.0

Just had a misted double glazed pane 1.20 x 1.20mtrs replaced twice as it had scratch noticable in sun as fitters installed it. Replaced again but just noticable so phoned and had bill reduced by 25% as couldn't stand the aggro again.I believe it is caused by the glass mashing machine not being perfectly clean and having grit particles.0
